Rights activist and political commentator, Deji Adeyanju, has launched a scathing attack on former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, describing him as a “fraud, religious bigot and divisive politician.”
In a series of posts on his Facebook page on Friday, Adeyanju warned that the opposition would be making a grave mistake if it presented Obi as its candidate in the 2027 general election.
According to him, Obi’s candidacy would not only deepen political divisions but also endanger national unity.
“If the opposition field Obi who is a religious bigot and a divisive politician in 2027, I will vote Tinubu in protest to prevent him and his mob of political extremists from going anywhere close to Aso Rock,” Adeyanju declared.
He accused the former Anambra State governor of misleading his supporters, whom he labelled as “Obidient mob.”
“Peter Obi is the leader of the Obidient mob. Peter Obi is a religious bigot. Peter Obi is a fraud,” he wrote.
Adeyanju further alleged that Obi engaged in financial impropriety during his tenure as governor.
He claimed that Obi used state resources for personal gain by channeling Anambra funds into businesses in which he had personal interest.
“He corruptly invested Anambra State funds in his family business. He deposited billions of Anambra State funds in a bank he has shares and interest. That is corruption and abuse of office,” Adeyanju alleged.
The outspoken activist went on to challenge Obi to take him to court if his claims were false. “I quadruple dare him to sue me,” Adeyanju stated.
As of press time, Peter Obi has not publicly responded to the allegations.
