A Clergy of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) and consummate educationist, Rev’d. Philip Ogagaoghene Emakpor, has been elected as the 10th Chairman of the Association of Primary School Head of Nigeria (AOPSHON) of the Ethiope West Local Government Area Branch.

The Returning Officer of the Election, Mr. Sunday Osanebi, announced the result at a well attended 10th Quadrantal Delegates Conference of the Union, held at Uherevie Primary School, Oghara, headquarters of the council area, during the weekend.
He said a total of 48 delegates were accredited for the elections and out of this figure, Rev’d Emakpor, serving as the Headteacher of Ejera Primary School, Okuno-Ekroda, polled 28 votes to defeat his opponent, serving as Headteacher of Mosogar Primary School, Mosogar, Mrs. Ese Joy Atenaga, who scored 20 votes.
Mr. Osanebi, said the election which was keenly contested and hitch-free, elected Mrs. Mabel Efemeye (1st Vice Chairman), Rachael Umukoro (2nd Vice Chairman), Adu Gladys (Deputy Vice Chairman), Mrs. Odje Doris Okpokpo (Secretary) and Mr. Jonathan Oteveeri (Assistant Secretary).
Others are: Mr. Kingsley Agisogu (Teasurer), Florence Imuere (Publicity Secretary), Mrs. Mercy Okwe (Financial Secretary), Tessy Agoba (Social Secretary), Mrs. Ese Ighegbe (1st Examiner of Account) and Mr. Andrew Iweta (2nd Examiner of Account).
Presenting his acceptance speech, Rev’d Emakpor dedicated the victory of the elections to all members of the union and pledged to lead with integrity, respect and fair to all, irrespective of group alignment.

The immediate past Chairman of AOPSHON, Ethiope West Branch and Headteacher of Okome Primary School, Oghara, Comrade (Mrs.) Christiana Edoso, described the electioneering victory of Rev’d Emakpor as a divine ordination by God; saying the victory was a clear testament of her successor’s humility, loyalty and dedication to the advancement of the union in the local government area.
Meanwhile, Rev’d Philip Ogagaoghene Emakpor was, today, sworn-in as a Justice of the Peace (JP) of Delta State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in a ceremony, held, at the High Court of Justice, Isiokolo, following his appointment by His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, marking a significant milestone in his long-standing commitment to public service and community development,
The Chief Judge of Delta State, Hon. Justice Tessy Diai, while administering the relevant oath of office on the newly appointed Justices of the Peace, congratulated the newly sworn-in JPs drawn from various works of life, adding that their nomination was necessitated by the yearnings of the Delta State Government in ensuring peace in the state.
Hon Justice Obomejero Aforkeya who administered the oaths of office on the appointees on behalf of the State Chief Judge, noted that their impeccable records of community service and desire to promote peace in Delta earned them the appointments.
While charging the appointees to work assiduously in entrenching Justice and peace which is one of the cardinal objectives of government in their respective domain, Justice Diai enjoined them to continually promote peace in their communities.
The Chief Judge told the appointees not only to be transparent in their public conduct, but admonished them to be seen to be fair to all in their actions and decisions at all times.
Speaking shortly after taking the oath, Rev’d Emakpor, expressed appreciation to stakeholders involved in his selection and pledged to discharge his duties with fairness, transparency, and respect for the rule of law.
He described the role of a Justice of the Peace as both an honour and a call to deeper service. According to him, it represents an opportunity to serve as a bridge between the people and the justice system, promoting peaceful conflict resolution and reinforcing trust within communities.
