The Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, OON, FNIALS, LLD (HC), KSG, KSJI, has nominated Hon. Bridget Ifechukwukwu Anyafulu, Member representing Oshimili South State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, for the revered Olinzele Ahaba Chieftaincy Title.

The nomination was announced in the Asagba’s New Year message, where he listed Hon. Anyafulu among notable sons and daughters of Asaba found worthy for the honour. Other nominees include Ogbueshi (Prof.) Louis Edozie, former Delta State Commissioner for Information, and Barr. Chike Ogeah, among others.

According to the New Year statement, the nominations are subject to the fulfillment of all traditional requirements and a formal screening process, stressing that the conferment of the title remains entirely at the pleasure of His Royal Majesty and may take place anytime in 2027.

The announcement has been greeted with widespread jubilation across Asaba, as the Comrade Community and residents of the ancient city erupted in celebration, congratulating Hon. Bridget Anyafulu on the well-deserved recognition.
