A Delta All Progressives Congress (APC) State Chairmanship aspirant, Hon. Ebiakpo Ezebri, has expressed confidence in his ability to reposition the party for victory, declaring that he has the capacity to neutralise the opposition and deliver a landslide win for the APC in Delta State in the 2027 general elections if elected the party Chairman.
Ezebri, a former executive member of the Delta State APC, made the assertion while speaking with a team of journalists about his aspirations, noting that the state chapter of the party requires firm, experienced, and strategic leadership to effectively consolidate the party’s gains in 2027.
He also vowed to harvest all eligible votes in the 2027 election for the APC, noting that under his watch the opposition will not get 5 percent of the vote cast in Delta. Promising to deliver over a million votes for the President Tinubu and Governor Sherrif Oborevwori like they did for President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011.
“If I am given the opportunity to lead the Delta APC, I have the Capacity to neutralise the opposition,” he said. “I will make sure they are so weakened politically that they will not be able to pose any serious threat in the state.”
He emphasised that his confidence is rooted in decades of political engagement, stressing that he is not new to the terrain. “I have been in this game for over 30 years now. I understand the dynamics of politics in Delta State, and I know what it takes to win elections, having played the opposition politics before now,” Ezebri stated.
According to him, one of his key strengths lies in his ability to build bridges and foster unity within the party. He said his experience and expertise would be deployed to bring together all tendencies within the APC, ensuring that internal divisions do not weaken the party ahead of future elections.
“Our experience and the way we apply our expertise will ensure that the major interests within the party come together as one,” he said. “A united party is the only way we can successfully continue our dominance of the political space in Delta.”
Ezebri noted that the office of the state chairman is not meant for personal aggrandisement or legacy-building, but for disciplined service to the party. “This position should not become an avenue for anyone to build personal wealth and legacy. It is about strengthening the party structure and preparing and galvanising it for victory,” he said.
He also explained that his recent consultations with key stakeholders were aimed at strengthening his strategic advantage within the party. “I have reached out to some key stakeholders and party leaders to give myself an edge, the responses are very encouraging. You know, politics is about consultation and strategy,” Ezebri clarified.
On the issue of zoning, the chairmanship aspirant stated that the arrangement clearly favours Delta South, adding that the zone must take advantage of the opportunity to present a credible and capable leader. “The Governor and Deputy Speakers are from Delta Central, the Deputy Governor and Secretary to Delta State Government, are from Delta North, while only the Speaker is from Delta South, so, the South should produce the next state chairman for equity and political balancing.”
He further argued that among the aspirants from Delta South, his experience and political pedigree distinguish him from others. “Among those contesting from Delta South, I tower above the rest in terms of experience and capacity to deliver results,” he asserted.
The strong grassroots mobiliser, called on party leaders and stakeholders to support his ambition, assuring them that his leadership would reposition the Delta APC as a formidable force capable of establishing APC dominance in the state in 2027.
