The Delta State Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji, has congratulated Mr. Maxwell Awuse, Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Head of Service, on his retirement from the State Civil Service.
Dr. Oseji extended the goodwill message when Mr. Awuse paid her a courtesy visit to formally announce his disengagement from service.
She commended the retiring Permanent Secretary for his dedication, humility, and respect throughout his career, describing him as a committed public servant who contributed significantly to repositioning the Civil Service. She also noted his role in ensuring the successful implementation of the 20 activities designed to support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. Agenda.
While praying for God’s continued protection, guidance, and a prosperous post-retirement life, Dr. Oseji encouraged him to remain a shining example of integrity and service.
In his remarks, Mr. Awuse expressed gratitude to God for enabling him to fulfil his career aspirations. He also thanked Governor Oborevwori and the Head of Service for giving him the opportunity to serve Delta State.
Recounting his civil service journey, he noted that he joined as a Personnel Officer II in 1997 and subsequently served in various ministries, including Information, Health, Oil and Gas, the Office of the Deputy Governor, and finally the Office of the Head of Service.
Advising serving officers, Mr. Awuse stressed the importance of hard work, diligence, humility, and integrity, stating that his guiding principle had always been a commitment to service. He added that his ultimate vision was to rise to the pinnacle of his career, which he achieved as a Permanent Secretary.
Delivering goodwill messages, the Permanent Secretary of the Civil Service Commission, Mr. Fred Yoro; retired Permanent Secretary, Chief Ben Okonta; and Chairman of the Administrative Officers’ Forum, Mr. Itobore Imokiniovo, described Mr. Awuse as an astute administrator with deep knowledge of public policy and management.
They praised him as a kind, generous, and dedicated leader and thanked God for granting him good health and sound mind to retire gracefully after an accomplished career.
