The Delta State Head of Service, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji, has inaugurated the Advisory Committee of Retired Heads of Service, in a ceremony held in Asaba, the state capital.
Addressing the committee members during the event, Dr. Oseji expressed her deep appreciation for their presence and thanked them for their continuous support and encouragement.
She outlined the terms of reference for the committee as follows:
- To contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the Delta State Public Service for a sustainable future.
- To establish a strategic team of experienced and resourceful individuals whose institutional knowledge can be leveraged for policy guidance and improvement.
- To deliberate on any other relevant matters as may be deemed necessary.
Dr. Oseji described the development of the state’s public service as a continuous work in progress, emphasizing that meetings of this nature will persist even after her retirement. She stressed the need for the committee to go beyond its initial terms by offering regular suggestions and advice to support the incumbent Head of Service and help achieve the broader objectives of the state administration.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Committee, Sir Okey Ofili, commended Dr. Oseji for her foresight in initiating the committee. He assured her of the committee’s unwavering support and prayed for divine guidance to ensure the continued growth of the Delta State Civil Service.
Reflecting on their collective service to the state, Sir Ofili listed both retired and serving Heads of Service since the creation of Delta State. The distinguished individuals include:
- Mr. Jackson Ajogri
- Mr. Kordit Mordi
- Mr. S.O. Efenudu
- Mr. S.E.O. Mordi
- Dr. Samuel Okpokpor
- Mr. A.E. Eruero
- Mr. Paul Evuarherhe
- Sir Okey Ofili
- Mr. Patrick Origho
- Mr. Reginald Bayoko
- Chief Grace Akpoguma (the first female Head of Service)
- Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji (the second female and current Head of Service)
Sir Ofili noted that each of these individuals served with distinction, dedicating a significant portion of their lives to the civil service and attaining the highest office of Head of Service in Delta State.
