Civil Servants across the State Have been called upon to delve into agriculture, especially the home stead farming as it would reduce hunger in Nigeria.
The Head of Service of Delta State, Dr. (Mrs) Mininim Oseji made a call when she visited the home stead farm of the commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hon. Val Arenyeka at the Commissioners Quarters in Asaba.
According to her, “every home should have a Garden to reduce hunger in Nigeria.”
She stressed the need for Civil Servants to be properly sensitized on the resources required in terms of finances and materials in other to key into the home stead farming.
The HOS who was visibly delighted by the home stead Agricultural Project of the Commissioner, appealed to him that as partners in progress, Civil Servants should be included in any Agricultural project organized by his ministry by way of providing training for them.
Cucumber, water leaves, okro, poultry and fish ponds were among produce seen at the Commissioner’s home stead farm.
