The Delta State Head of Service, Dr. Mininim Oseji, has congratulated Dr. Philomena Okeowo on her retirement from the Delta State Civil Service after 33 years of meritorious service.
Dr. Oseji commended Dr. Okeowo for her dedication, professionalism, and outstanding contributions to the state’s healthcare system, describing her career as exemplary and impactful.
She encouraged the retiring Permanent Secretary to remain steadfast in her faith and trust God for direction and fulfilment in the next phase of her life.
Until her retirement, Dr. Okeowo served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health.
The Head of Service advised her to leverage her wealth of experience by exploring new opportunities in teaching hospitals, universities, or non-governmental organisations where her expertise would continue to add value.
In her remarks, Dr. Okeowo expressed profound gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the Head of Service for the opportunity to serve the state. She reflected on her 33-year journey in the civil service with appreciation, noting that it had been a fulfilling and successful career.
Dr. Okeowo joined the Delta State Civil Service in 1992. Over the years, she rose through the ranks, serving as Medical Director of Public Health before her appointment as Permanent Secretary in 2022.
The retirement ceremony was attended by Permanent Secretaries, Directors, and other top government officials who gathered to celebrate her years of dedicated service.
