A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Delta State, Comrade Gabriel Ejomafuvwe Diode, has extended warm birthday felicitations to elder statesman and political leader, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, describing him as a pillar of leadership and a beacon of political mentorship in Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Friday to commemorate Ogboru’s birthday, Diode lauded the former Delta State governorship candidate for his enduring contributions to the growth of democratic ideals and political inclusiveness in Delta State and beyond.
He noted that Chief Ogboru’s influence in the political landscape has remained profound over the years, emphasizing that many individuals who today occupy positions as State and Federal lawmakers owe their political rise to Ogboru’s guidance, support, and unwavering belief in nurturing new leaders.
“Your Excellency, your life has been a testament to courage, resilience, and selfless service,” Diode stated. “Through your leadership and political structure, countless individuals have emerged into positions of authority, both at the State and National levels.
Your impact is undeniable and deeply appreciated.”
Diode further poured encomiums on the celebrant, describing him as a “political general” whose vision and commitment have continued to inspire a new generation of leaders within and outside Delta State.
He praised Ogboru’s consistency in advocating for good governance, equity, and justice, noting that his legacy transcends partisan lines and resonates across different political divides.
“As you mark another year today, we celebrate not just your age, but your legacy, a legacy of empowerment, courage, and service to humanity. You have remained steadfast in your convictions, and your contributions to nation-building will never be forgotten,” he added.
Diode concluded by wishing Chief Ogboru good health, long life, and continued strength to contribute meaningfully to the development of Delta State and Nigeria at large.
Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, fondly regarded by many as a political trailblazer, has remained a significant figure in Delta State politics for decades, earning respect across party lines for his role in shaping the careers of numerous political actors.
