Media personality and former TV executive, Morayo Afolabi-Brown, has shared how President Bola Tinubu once intervened to get her reinstated at Television Continental (TVC) after she was dismissed.
Speaking in an interview with media host Chude Jideonwo, Afolabi-Brown explained that she was suddenly fired three years into her career at TVC because of internal politics.
“Three years after I got into TVC, internal politics got me fired. It was after I got fired that people started calling Asiwaju, saying, ‘Do you know whose child was sacked?’” she said.
According to her, Tinubu did not initially know who she was until some of his associates explained.
“That was when Toyin Subair, Tunji Bello, and even my CEO at the time, Mr. Lemmy, told him, ‘Sir, Alao’s daughter.’ That was when he realized it was me,” she recalled.
Afolabi-Brown added that Tinubu later invited her to his office to understand what happened.
“He called me to his office and said, ‘What happened?’ And after a lot of discussions, I got my job back, though I was demoted,” she said.
She stressed that she did not get her first job at TVC through Tinubu’s influence.

“The point is that I didn’t get my job through him. I went there purely on merit,” she explained.
Morayo Afolabi-Brown, who recently resigned from TVC, is widely known as the host of Your View, a popular breakfast talk show.
