Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has intercepted a truck carrying vandalised railway tracks and arrested five suspects in connection with the crime along Bauchi- Jos road.
The vandalisation of the railway track is said to have taken place around Gital town of Tafawa Balewa local government area of Bauchi state.
State commandant of the NSCDC Oloyede Nelson said the personnel following intelligence report intercepted the truck conveying vandalised items that were disguised as bags of chicken feeds and slippers in miri village along Bauchi jos road.
Five suspects in connection with the crime are already in the custody of the organisation while effort was ongoing to arrest the alleged mastermind along with the truck driver who are now at large.
Exhibits recovered include 80 pieces of vandalised railway tracks, five pairs of slippers, bags of chicken feed, one long vehicle truck, and a Lexus RX 330 with registration number BWR 60 DN.
