Okpanam, Delta State — May 29, 2025
Residents of Obodogba Community in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State have raised alarm over what they described as ongoing irregularities in the auditing and management of their communal lands. In a peaceful protest held within the community, the concerned residents called on the Delta State Government and security agencies to urgently intervene and halt further auditing activities by FISAM KONSULT NIGERIA LIMITED, a private firm commissioned to audit their lands since 2022.

Addressing journalists during the demonstration, key community figures including former youth chairman, Mr. Uche Nwaedozie, former assistant secretary, Mr. Esmond O. Ijeh, and the Vice President of Okpanam Youth, Comrade Chukwudi Abumujor, alleged that the auditing firm—led by Mr. Samuel Morah—has failed to render any official report or account of their findings more than two years after being engaged by the community.
According to the protesters, the original agreement with FISAM KONSULT stipulated periodic reports every three months to keep the community abreast of land transactions and auditing progress. However, they claimed that since the commencement of the exercise, the firm has defaulted on this obligation and operated in secrecy.
More troubling, the community members alleged that Mr. Morah has been working in connivance with certain individuals within Obodogba to illegally sell and allocate communal lands to private individuals, all without the consent or knowledge of the broader community. They further accused the auditing team of intimidation, threats, and filing malicious petitions to security agencies in an effort to silence dissenting voices.
“The audit firm was brought in to bring transparency, but instead, we’ve seen more secrecy, division, and alleged illegal dealings,” said Mr. Nwaedozie. “We are calling on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and all relevant security authorities to investigate this matter thoroughly before it escalates beyond control.”
The protesters insisted that the activities of FISAM KONSULT and its associates have not only betrayed the community’s trust but also pose a serious threat to peace and unity in Obodogba.
They demanded an immediate suspension of all ongoing land audit operations by the firm and called for a comprehensive, independent investigation to reveal the true status of land transactions carried out since 2022.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Mr. Samuel Morah nor FISAM KONSULT NIGERIA LIMITED had responded to the allegations.
