Landlords and residents of Jingi Obiekea and Engr. Oveisi Eradajaye Streets, Abada axis of Ogbeozoma Community, Okpanam, in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, have paid a courtesy appreciation visit to Chief Ofia Ego, a renowned philanthropist, in recognition of his selfless contributions to the development and security of the area.
The residents converged at the residence of Chief Ofia Ego to express their gratitude for his sole sponsorship of the installation of solar-powered street lights and the weeding and environmental sanitation of the streets, gestures they described as timely and impactful.
Speaking on behalf of the residents, community members noted that since Chief Ofia Ego relocated to the area, security has significantly improved, while developmental activities have gained renewed momentum.

They said the street lighting project has enhanced visibility at night, reduced dark spots, and deterred criminal activities, thereby making the neighbourhood safer for residents and commuters alike.
A landlady in the area, Mrs. Anwuli Itimi, commended Chief Ofia Ego for his consistent commitment to the welfare of the community, describing him as a “true neighbour and development partner.” She noted that even before the recent interventions, efforts were already being made by concerned residents to improve the area, but Chief Ofia Ego’s involvement had greatly strengthened those initiatives.
In his response, Chief Ofia Ego expressed appreciation for the show of love and solidarity, describing the visit as both humbling and encouraging. He said the appreciation would spur him to do even more for the community, stressing that collective progress could only be achieved through unity and cooperation among residents.
While calling for sustained peace and togetherness, Chief Ofia Ego further pledged to deploy local vigilante operatives to enhance security in the area with immediate effect. He urged residents to cooperate fully with the vigilante group to ensure that criminal elements are flushed out of the neighbourhood.
The residents, however, appealed to the Delta State Government to come to their aid by constructing drainage systems and access roads in the area to protect lives and property, especially during the rainy season.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of a letter of appreciation to Chief Ofia Ego by the Concerned Residents of Jingi Obiekea Street, acknowledging his philanthropic gestures, positive landlordship, and enduring impact on community life.
The letter, dated January 1, 2026, described Chief Ofia Ego’s intervention as a demonstration of love, compassion, and commitment to humanity, while offering prayers for good health, long life, and greater opportunities for service in the years ahead.
