In a heartwarming display of community service, the OMIWA Foundation USA, led by its dedicated medical team, brought smiles and relief to the people of Obior community in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State with a two-day free medical outreach held on May 31st and June 1st, 2025.
The outreach, staged in front of the Obior Civic Centre, saw over 400 patients benefit from free consultations, medications, eye screenings (including lenses), lab tests for malaria, sugar, TB and more, as well as dental and physiotherapy care. The event attracted residents from neighboring villages, eager to take advantage of the Foundation’s services.

Before the outreach began, Dr (Amb.) Emordi Christopher, a proud son of the soil, led the medical team to the palace of the Obi of Obior, His Royal Majesty, Agbogidi Obi Kingsley Ugochukwu Ofuokwu III, to receive his royal blessings. HRM Ofuokwu III expressed his deep gratitude to the OMIWA Foundation for its commitment to the community’s well-being, while also commending Dr Emordi Christopher for his pivotal role in bringing the outreach to fruition.
Speaking at the event, Dr Onochie Ochonogor, the lead doctor of the OMIWA medical team, emphasized the importance of regular health checks, particularly for blood pressure and sugar levels. He cautioned against the dangers of self-medication and urged the community to utilize the local primary health center for routine checkups.
The outreach was a major highlight in the community, drawing widespread attention and appreciation. Mr Tohan Okenyi, the Foundation’s country coordinator, proudly announced that this was the 39th free medical outreach organized by OMIWA Foundation — and they are not stopping anytime soon.

“We are overwhelmed by the warm reception from the Obior community,” Okenyi shared, thanking the volunteers of the Foundation’s medical team for their unwavering dedication. He also praised Amb Dr Christopher for his exceptional publicity efforts and support that made the outreach such a resounding success.
With a dedicated team of 22 medical personnel on the ground, the outreach reaffirmed the OMIWA Foundation’s commitment to delivering accessible and quality healthcare to underserved communities in Nigeria — one village at a time.
