The immediate past Deputy Governor of Delta State and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), His Excellency, (Dcn) Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, Esq., has expressed confidence in the ongoing preparations for the party’s forthcoming National Convention, commending the work of the planning committee.
Otuaro, who is also a prominent leader of the PDP in Delta State, gave the assurance following the party’s 107th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja.
He specifically lauded the Convention Planning Committee chaired by Okezie Ikpeazu, describing its efforts as commendable and indicative of a well-organized convention process.
Speaking ahead of the PDP National Convention scheduled for October 29 and 30, Otuaro called on Nigerians to rally support for the Peoples Democratic Party, stressing that the party remains committed to internal democracy and credible leadership.
He expressed optimism that the Ikpeazu-led committee would deliver a peaceful and transparent convention capable of producing trusted party faithful to steer the affairs of the party ahead of future elections.
According to him, “the planning committee is working diligently to ensure a hitch-free convention that will usher in credible leaders and strengthen the party’s democratic values.”
Otuaro further urged Nigerians and party members to take advantage of the ongoing electronic membership registration exercise, noting that the initiative is designed to enhance transparency and broaden participation within the party.
He assured that the PDP remains focused on presenting competent and credible candidates in upcoming elections, reiterating the party’s commitment to good governance and national development.
The PDP National Convention is expected to be a critical event in shaping the party’s leadership structure and positioning it ahead of future political contests.
