It was a vibrant and politically significant gathering in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State on Thursday, as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) officially presented its newly elected Ward 9 executives to the people of Ogbolobiri community.
The event attracted party faithful, community stakeholders, and political observers, marking a renewed show of strength for the PDP in the riverine area.
Representing the immediate past Deputy Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Barr. Deacon Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, was his Personal Assistant, Pastor Oporoza Abraham, who led a delegation to the ceremony. In his remarks, Pastor Abraham formally introduced the Ward 9 executives to the community and charged them to take their responsibilities seriously.
He described the executives as “the eyes of the party” at the grassroots level, emphasizing the importance of active engagement with constituents. He urged them to intensify mobilization efforts through door-to-door campaigns to strengthen the party’s presence ahead of upcoming electoral activities.
In a dramatic highlight of the event, several members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) publicly defected to the PDP, pledging their allegiance before party leaders and supporters. The decampees were warmly received, signaling what party stakeholders described as a growing momentum for the PDP in the area.
Pastor Abraham encouraged the new entrants to fully integrate into the party by participating in the ongoing electronic registration exercise and contributing actively to its growth and success.
He further reassured party members of continued support from the leadership, noting that the PDP remains committed to reclaiming and consolidating its position in Nigeria’s political landscape.
On behalf of His Excellency, (Dcn.) Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, Esq., he congratulated the newly inaugurated executives and commended the people of Burutu for their impressive turnout. He also assured them that the community would not be left behind as political activities intensify in the lead-up to future elections.
