Members of the Sagay Family Youth Forum gathered online on Sunday, March 15, 2026, for an orientation programme aimed at strengthening family values and fostering unity among members.
The virtual session, themed “Understanding the Sagay Family Heritage and Developing a Positive Mindset,” brought together youths and elders from different branches of the Sagay lineage to reflect on their heritage and the importance of upholding the family’s long-standing values.
Speaking during the programme, Mr. Ola Binitie from the Esanjumi Gate reminded participants that the Sagay family traces its roots to royalty, stressing that members must carry themselves with the dignity and character befitting such a heritage.
He urged members to be mindful of the legacy they represent, noting that the Sagay lineage has always been associated with honour and responsibility. According to him, respect, hard work and love for one another remain some of the core values that have sustained the family over the years.
Also addressing participants, Mrs. Blessing Fasomo of the Amone Gate encouraged members to focus on the ideals that unite the family rather than dwelling on past disagreements. She advised that differences should be handled through constructive dialogue and mutual understanding in order to maintain harmony within the family.
The orientation programme featured an engaging question-and-answer session, allowing participants to share perspectives on the family’s history, values and the role of the younger generation in preserving its legacy.
At the end of the session, members expressed optimism about the future of the Sagay family, pledging to embrace a positive mindset and work together to strengthen unity and progress within the lineage.
The event was coordinated by the President of the Sagay Family Youth Forum, Mr. Livingstone Sagay, and the Secretary, Ms. Tosan Ganranwei.
