A member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Ifechukwukwu Bridget Anyafulu, has commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for convening the forthcoming Delta State Economic Summit, describing the initiative as a bold step towards building a more prosperous, resilient and diversified economy for the state.
Anyafulu, who represents Oshimili South State Constituency, said the summit demonstrated the Oborevwori administration’s commitment to strategic economic planning, sustainable growth and inclusive development.

n a statement issued ahead of the summit, the lawmaker said the initiative would provide a veritable platform for government, the private sector, development partners, investors, academia and other stakeholders to collectively develop sustainable solutions for Delta State’s economic future.
According to her, the summit would also provide an opportunity to showcase Delta’s investment potential, innovation, enterprise and economic opportunities to the global community.
She said, “The forthcoming summit is a clear demonstration that Delta State is embracing global best practices by creating a platform where government, the private sector, development partners, investors, academia, and other critical stakeholders can collectively chart a sustainable pathway for the future of our state.”
Anyafulu further commended Governor Oborevwori for what she described as his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability and responsible governance, noting that the administration had demonstrated a willingness to move beyond policy pronouncements to actual implementation.
She said the summit aligned with the Governor’s vision of building a resilient and diversified economy capable of attracting investments, creating jobs, promoting industrialisation, strengthening agriculture and empowering small and medium-scale enterprises.
The lawmaker particularly praised Oborevwori for aligning the state’s MORE Agenda with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 Agenda, describing the move as evidence of a government focused on long-term and measurable development.
She stressed that sustainable development could only be achieved through collaboration, innovation, sound policies, measurable outcomes and a shared commitment to excellence.
Anyafulu expressed confidence that the deliberations and resolutions from the summit would produce practical outcomes capable of accelerating economic growth, attracting investments and creating greater opportunities for Deltans.
She said the summit could further strengthen Delta State’s position as a destination for sustainable investment and development in Nigeria and across Africa.
“I am confident that the deliberations and resolutions of this summit will translate into practical outcomes that will further accelerate economic growth, attract greater investment, create more opportunities for our people, and consolidate Delta State’s position as a model of sustainable development in Nigeria and indeed the African continent,” she stated.
The lawmaker congratulated Governor Oborevwori on the initiative and wished delegates, development partners, investors, captains of industry and other participants a productive and successful summit.
She prayed for continued wisdom, strength and grace for the Governor as he leads the state towards greater economic prosperity.
