In a determined effort to maintain a cleaner and healthier environment, the Delta State Waste Management Board has returned to the Ibusa dumpsite in Oshimili North Local Government Area for another round of maintenance. This comes shortly after the last exercise carried out on December 30th, 31st, 2024, and January 1st, 2025.
The ongoing maintenance, which began on January 10, 2025, is aimed at addressing the heavy waste generated during the festive season. Under the leadership of Chairman Mathew Mofe Edema, the Board has demonstrated unwavering commitment to advancing Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E Agenda, particularly its focus on environmental cleanliness.
Speaking on the initiative, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Matthew Mofe Edema, flanked by other Members of the Waste Management Board, Hon Felix Erhimedafe Member representing Delta Central, Hon Igbenije Ndudi Cosmas, Member representing Delta North, and Chief Mrs Amb. Hon. Ethe Enifome Odunwa, Member representing Delta South, emphasized the importance of consistent waste management to ensure that communities remain habitable and safe. He urged residents to support the government’s efforts by adhering to proper waste disposal practices.
