Hon. Chief Benson Obire, Member representing Warri South Constituency II in the Delta State House of Assembly, has warmly congratulated His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, on the occasion of his third anniversary in office as Governor of Delta State, describing the milestone as a celebration of impactful governance, visionary leadership, and unprecedented developmental strides across the state.
In a statement issued on Friday, May 29, 2026, Chief Obire praised Governor Oborevwori for what he described as “three years of purposeful and transformational governance anchored on the people-oriented M.O.R.E Agenda,” stressing that the administration has continued to redefine governance through visible projects, economic inclusion, infrastructural renewal, and strategic human capital development.
According to the lawmaker, Governor Oborevwori has, within a relatively short period, demonstrated exceptional leadership capacity by translating campaign promises into practical realities that are positively impacting the lives of ordinary Deltans in both urban and rural communities.
Chief Obire noted that under Governor Oborevwori’s administration, Delta State has witnessed remarkable improvements in road infrastructure, construction and rehabilitation of strategic flyovers and drainage systems, modernization of educational facilities, strengthening of healthcare institutions, expansion of rural development projects, empowerment of youths and women, enhancement of security architecture, agricultural support initiatives, and sustained welfare packages for workers and pensioners.
He particularly commended the Governor for prioritizing workers’ welfare through the prompt implementation of the new minimum wage and the gradual offsetting of pension arrears, describing the actions as evidence of compassionate and responsible leadership.
“Governor Oborevwori has proven beyond doubt that governance is about service, sincerity of purpose, and the courage to take bold decisions for the good of the people. In an era where many leaders thrive on political rhetoric, he has remained focused on delivering measurable results that speak for themselves,” Chief Obire stated.
The Warri South lawmaker further remarked that the Governor’s calm disposition, humility, accessibility, and inclusive governance style have endeared him to Deltans across political, ethnic, and religious divides, adding that his administration has continued to foster peace, unity, and sustainable development throughout the state.
Drawing inspiration from the words of the late global icon, Nelson Mandela, Chief Obire said: “It always seems impossible until it is done.” He explained that Governor Oborevwori’s administration has exemplified this principle by confronting longstanding developmental challenges with determination, strategic planning, and effective execution.
He added that the M.O.R.E Agenda has evolved beyond a policy framework into a transformative governance philosophy that has restored hope and improved livelihoods for thousands of Deltans.
Chief Obire also expressed confidence that Governor Oborevwori’s achievements within three years have further strengthened public confidence in his leadership and positioned him favorably for greater responsibilities ahead.
Quoting Psalm 127:1, “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it,” the legislator prayed for divine wisdom, strength, protection, and continued grace upon the Governor as he continues to steer Delta State toward greater prosperity and development.
He affirmed that history would remember Governor Oborevwori as a leader who matched vision with action and transformed governance into a tool for meaningful societal progress.
“Deltans are proud of Your Excellency’s achievements. Your administration has shown that genuine leadership is measured not by loud promises, but by visible impact and the positive transformation of lives. Without doubt, history will record this era as one in which purposeful leadership, peace, and development flourished in Delta State,” he said.
Chief Obire concluded by congratulating Governor Oborevwori and his administration on the successful completion of three impactful years in office, while expressing optimism that the state will continue to witness greater progress, unity, and prosperity under his leadership in the years ahead.
