The Head of Service of Delta State, Dr. (Mrs.) Mininim Oseji, has paid glowing tribute to four retiring Permanent Secretaries of the Post Primary Education Board (PPEB), describing their exit as a significant loss to the state’s civil service.
Receiving the officials in her office in Asaba, Dr. Oseji said she was filled with mixed emotions as she celebrated their years of distinguished service, noting that their experience, discipline, and institutional knowledge would be sorely missed.
She commended the retirees for their professionalism, dedication, and outstanding contributions to service delivery, particularly highlighting their role in strengthening staff performance, including successes recorded in the Head of Service quiz competitions and the state’s ICT compliance initiatives.
According to her, their conduct throughout their careers reflected the highest standards of the public service, adding that they served not only as administrators but also as mentors and role models to younger officers.
The retiring Permanent Secretaries are Mrs. Mabel Ekpenisi, Mrs. Winifred Emeni, Dr. (Mrs.) Awoke Ejedimu, and Mr. Whisky Emore.
Dr. Oseji noted that their departure would leave a noticeable gap, urging other public servants to emulate their work ethic and commitment to excellence.
In a joint response, the retirees expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve and appreciated the Delta State Government for entrusting them with leadership responsibilities.
They also thanked the Head of Service for her guidance, describing her leadership as inspiring and impactful.
They said they were leaving service fulfilled, having contributed their quota to the development of the state’s education sector and civil service, and pledged their continued support for good governance even in retirement.
Also present at the ceremony were other Permanent Secretaries, including Mr. Wilson Chukwuka (Office of the Head of Service), Dr. Ngozi Mogbolu (Finance), and Mr. Kingsley Olomukoro, Functioning Permanent Secretary, Establishments and Pensions.
