“It is a resounding victory and a confirmation of my campaign slogan ‘Handshake of Progress Across Anambra East and West.’ I thank my people for voting massively for me, standing by me, and believing in our vision,” he said.
He described the victory as a mandate for development, emphasizing that the people had rejected money politics in favor of purposeful leadership.
“This victory is not just for Awande; it is a victory for improved agriculture, clean water, accessible roads, sustainable youth business grants, and socio-economic development,” Onyejekwe stated.
The ADC candidate further assured party supporters that the momentum from the primaries would be carried into the 2027 general election.
“The ticket is sealed, our mandate is legitimate, and our vision is clear. We are taking this momentum straight to the general election to align Anambra East and West with the national drive for a New Nigeria that is possible,” he added.
Addressing journalists on the way forward, Onyejekwe maintained that his campaign would intensify efforts to ensure victory at the polls.
“We are going to work harder to ensure we win the election and also fulfill our promises to the people. We have conducted a primary that stands as a shining example of transparency, zero impunity, and grassroots democracy,” he said.
Speaking on voter turnout, Onyejekwe noted that the large participation recorded during the primaries showed that the people of Anambra East and West were determined to change the status quo.
“With the massive turnout witnessed today, there is no gainsaying that the people are ready for change. I assure you that come 2027, there will be a successful election.and I will emerge victorious,” he concluded.
