Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, have congratulated Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, commending her contributions to the welfare of women, children and other vulnerable Nigerians.
Oborevwori, in a congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, described the First Lady as a compassionate woman whose humanitarian interventions had continued to complement government efforts to improve the lives of less privileged citizens.
The governor joined Nigerians, political leaders and well-wishers across the country in celebrating Senator Tinubu, whom he described as an “Amazon” whose commitment to public service and the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians remained worthy of recognition.
According to him, the First Lady’s support for her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as her involvement in programmes targeted at addressing the needs of vulnerable groups, had demonstrated her commitment to national development.
Oborevwori said Senator Tinubu had shown that public service was not merely about occupying positions of authority, but also about demonstrating compassion and using the opportunities provided by public office to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
He noted that her commitment to women, children, families and other vulnerable groups had earned her goodwill and appreciation across different sections of the country.
The governor further noted that Senator Tinubu’s background as a teacher and former lawmaker had given her valuable experience and insight into the challenges confronting families and communities, particularly those living at the margins of society.
He commended her advocacy for social welfare, empowerment and human capital development, describing such interventions as important to building a more inclusive society.
Oborevwori also acknowledged the First Lady’s support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government through programmes and initiatives designed to provide opportunities, empowerment and relief for Nigerians in need.
He said her efforts towards improving the welfare of women and children were particularly significant at a time when governments at various levels were exploring practical measures to improve citizens’ living conditions.
The governor commended Senator Tinubu’s resilience, dedication and service to the nation, stressing that her contributions had gone beyond the ceremonial responsibilities traditionally associated with the office of the First Lady.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, we celebrate an Amazon who has continued to support her beloved husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in making life meaningful for the downtrodden and less privileged in our society,” Oborevwori said.
He prayed God to grant the First Lady continued good health, wisdom and strength to sustain her humanitarian engagements and other contributions to national development.
Similarly, Senator Ede Dafinone, in a separate birthday message, extended warm felicitations to Senator Tinubu on behalf of his family and the people of Delta Central Senatorial District.
Dafinone described her journey in public service, from her tenure as First Lady of Lagos State to her years as a senator representing Lagos Central and her current role as First Lady of Nigeria—as a testament to a life devoted to service, faith and the nation.
The senator particularly commended the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative, saying its interventions in education, healthcare, social investment, agriculture and economic empowerment had continued to target women, youths and vulnerable Nigerians.
“Through the Renewed Hope Initiative, you have consistently demonstrated that leadership is ultimately about service to humanity,” Dafinone said.
He joined millions of Nigerians in praying for continued wisdom, sound health and divine strength for the First Lady as she continues her service to the nation.
Dafinone wished Senator Tinubu many more years of fulfilment and service to Nigeria, while assuring her of his highest esteem and warm regards on the occasion of her 66th birthday.
