The group noted that the alleged imposition of candidates by powerful political actors could create serious divisions within political parties and weaken public confidence in democratic institutions. It warned that when competent and popular aspirants are denied fair participation, it breeds anger, frustration, and political apathy among party members and supporters. Such practices, they argued, often result in defections, litigation, protests, and long-term disunity capable of affecting electoral success during the general elections in Delta State.
Furthermore, the Pan-Delta Group stressed that the people of Delta State deserve representatives who emerge through the genuine support of the electorate rather than through political manipulation or godfatherism.
