The Urhobo Consultative Forum (UCF) has congratulated Senator Ede Dafinone on his appointment as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs, describing the elevation as well-deserved and a recognition of his commitment to national service.
In a congratulatory message issued by the Forum, the group said the appointment, conferred by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, underscores Dafinone’s leadership qualities, integrity, and dedication to public service.
The UCF noted that the appointment is not only a personal achievement for the lawmaker but also a moment of pride for the Urhobo nation and the Delta Central Senatorial District.
According to the Forum, Dafinone’s new role places him in a strategic position to promote fairness, equity, and balanced representation across the country—principles it described as critical to national unity and sustainable development.
The group expressed confidence that under his leadership, the committee would enhance intergovernmental collaboration and ensure the effective implementation of the Federal Character principle with transparency and inclusiveness.
Reaffirming its commitment to the progress and unity of the Urhobo people, the Forum pledged its continued support to the senator as he undertakes the responsibilities of his new office.
The UCF also prayed for wisdom, strength, and success for Dafinone in the discharge of his duties.
The statement was signed by the Urhobo Consultative Forum.
