Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District are set to converge in Ughelli for the official declaration of Senator Ede Dafinone, in what party insiders describe as a strategic move to consolidate political strength ahead of future contests.
The invitation, issued by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Valentine Onojeghuo Esq., on Friday, disclosed that the event is being organized under the directive of the Delta State APC Vice Chairman and Chairman of Delta Central, Chief Paulinus Akpeki.
According to the notice, the declaration is scheduled to hold on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Oharisi Primary School, Ughelli, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
The statement called on a broad spectrum of party leadership across the senatorial district to attend the event. Those invited include members of the State Working Committee and State Executive Committee from Delta Central, as well as all Local Government Area (LGA) chairmen and their executive members across the district’s eight LGAs. Ward chairmen and their executive teams were also urged to be present.
Party officials say the wide-reaching invitation underscores the importance of the declaration, which is expected to serve as a unifying platform for APC structures in Delta Central. Observers note that such gatherings often play a critical role in reaffirming party loyalty, strengthening grassroots mobilization, and aligning political strategies.
While details of Senator Dafinone’s address are yet to be made public, the event is anticipated to highlight his legislative stewardship and outline his vision for the continued development of Delta Central.
The notice emphasized the need for unity among party members, expressing confidence that the gathering would reinforce support for the APC’s “Renewed Hope for M.O.R.E. Agenda,” a slogan that reflects the party’s commitment to growth and political advancement in the region.
Political analysts view the declaration as part of ongoing efforts by the APC to solidify its presence in Delta State, particularly in Delta Central, a key political zone in the state.
