Residents of Irokhin and Iguiya communities in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State have commended Senator Neda Imasuen for the construction of the Irokhin/Iguiya road, describing the intervention as a major milestone in addressing years of infrastructural neglect in the area.
The commendation was made during a thank-you visit to the senator, led by community representative, Mr. Frank Izevbuwa, who conveyed the collective gratitude of the people.
He noted that the road project has rekindled hope among residents and demonstrated responsive representation.
Speaking on behalf of the communities, Izevbuwa described the initiative as both timely and impactful, emphasizing that the improved road network would not only ease the movement of people and goods but also enhance access to essential services.
“For years, our communities have struggled with poor road conditions, especially during the rainy season. This project is a turning point for us. It will improve our daily lives and stimulate economic activities,” he said.
The road, which begins from Ogan and traverses three other communities before terminating at Irokhin, is strategically significant.
Residents believe it will serve as a vital link connecting rural settlements to larger commercial hubs, thereby boosting trade, agriculture, and overall socio-economic development.
Community leaders also noted that the project would help reduce transportation costs, improve access to healthcare and education, and attract further government and private sector investments to the area.
They further urged other political office holders to emulate Senator Imasuen’s commitment to grassroots development, stressing that such people-oriented projects are key to sustainable growth and inclusive
governance.
The Irokhin/Iguiya road project is widely seen as a testament to the growing demand for infrastructure that directly impacts rural communities, with residents expressing optimism that more developmental initiatives will follow.
