The Senator representing the good people of Edo South senatorial district, Senator Neda Imasuen has reiterated his commitment to delivering impactful, people-oriented projects across Edo State, emphasizing that infrastructure development remains central to his legislative agenda.
The senator made this known during an interview with journalists on the sidelines of an event at Ogbe stadium in Benin City.
Speaking on recent projects, including the ongoing construction of the Irokhin/Iguiya road in Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Imasuen described the initiative as part of a broader effort to bridge infrastructural gaps in rural communities. He noted that improving road connectivity is critical to enhancing economic activities, easing transportation, and improving access to basic services for residents.
According to him, his focus has been on interventions that directly affect the daily lives of constituents, particularly in underserved areas. “Our priority is to ensure that development is not limited to urban centres.
Rural communities deserve equal attention, especially in areas like roads, healthcare access, and economic opportunities,” he stated.
Imasuen further highlighted that the Irokhin/Iguiya road project is strategically designed to link multiple communities, facilitate the movement of agricultural produce, and reduce the hardship faced by residents, especially during the rainy season.
The Edo South senator also used the opportunity to call for sustained collaboration between government at all levels and community stakeholders, stressing that inclusive development requires collective responsibility.
Residents and observers at the venue expressed optimism over the senator’s remarks, noting that his emphasis on grassroots development aligns with the pressing needs of many communities across Edo State.

The interview comes amid growing recognition of infrastructure as a key driver of rural transformation, with stakeholders urging continued investment in projects that directly impact livelihoods.
