Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and Senator Ede Dafinone have felicitated with the Chief Adviser to the Governor, Chief (Dr.) Ighoyota Amori, on his 74th birthday, describing him as a distinguished statesman, political strategist and committed public servant whose decades of service have contributed significantly to the political development and stability of Delta State.
Governor Oborevwori, in a birthday message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, on Saturday, commended Amori’s long-standing commitment to the advancement of the state and the wellbeing of its people.
The Governor described the celebrant as a seasoned politician whose experience, political sagacity and dedication to public service had continued to make him a valuable asset to Delta State.
Oborevwori particularly acknowledged Amori’s leadership of the Delta Central 2023 (DC-23) political lobby group, noting that his years of political engagement had contributed to the strengthening of political structures and the advancement of good governance in the state.
He said Amori’s 74th birthday was an opportunity not only to celebrate his longevity but also to acknowledge his enduring contributions to governance, politics and community development.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I warmly felicitate with you, Chief Ighoyota Amori, on the occasion of your 74th birthday.
“Your years of dedicated service to God, Delta State and humanity are worthy of commendation.
Your courage, consistency and commitment to the ideals of leadership and progress have remained remarkable,” the Governor said.
Oborevwori prayed God to grant Amori continued good health, wisdom and strength, as well as many more years of peace, fulfilment and purposeful service to humanity.
Dafinone: Amori a Force in Delta’s Political Development
Similarly, Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, described Amori as a “distinguished statesman, consummate political strategist, Pan-Urhobo leader” and an important figure in the political development of Delta State.

Dafinone, in his congratulatory message, said Amori’s political journey since 1999 had been characterised by courage, resilience, loyalty and a sustained commitment to the growth and stability of the state.
According to him, Amori has played significant roles in the evolution and stabilisation of governance across successive administrations in Delta State, contributing to the strengthening of political structures, continuity and effective governance.
“Since 1999, you have remained a prominent force in the political development of Delta State, making significant contributions to the evolution and stabilisation of governance across successive administrations,” Dafinone said.
The Senator also commended Amori’s leadership within the Urhobo Nation, saying the celebrant had consistently demonstrated commitment to the unity, progress and advancement of the Urhobo people while recognising the broader responsibility of building a peaceful, prosperous and united Delta State.
He noted that Amori’s continued political relevance was not merely a product of longevity, but also of his ability to remain engaged, accessible and responsive to the aspirations of the people.
“These qualities have earned you a distinctive place in the political history of Delta State,” Dafinone stated.
The Delta Central Senator wished Amori renewed strength, wisdom, sound health and many more years of purposeful service to Delta State, the Urhobo Nation and Nigeria.
He also prayed that the celebrant’s years ahead would bring greater fulfilment and provide him with more opportunities to deploy his wealth of experience and influence in the service of humanity.

The birthday tributes from the Governor and the Delta Central Senatorial District underscore Amori’s enduring influence in the political affairs of Delta State and his long-standing role in public service.
