The Worldwide Executive of the University of Ibadan Alumni Association (UIAA) Worldwide, under the leadership of Dr. Terrumun Hembaor Gajir, has felicitated with the Chairman of the University of Ibadan Alumni Association (UIAA) Rivers State Branch, Prof. Emmanuel C. Emasealu, ahead of his forthcoming inaugural lecture at the University of Port Harcourt.
The prestigious 212th Inaugural Lecture of the University is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, and will feature Prof. Emasealu delivering a thought-provoking lecture titled, “LET US PLAY.”
Prof. Emmanuel C. Emasealu, Dip., B.A. (Hons.), M.A., Ph.D (Ibadan), Cert. (Colorado), fta, fsonta, hsonta, fdgn, fnal, is of the Department of Theatre and Film Studies, Faculty of Humanities, University of Port Harcourt.
In a congratulatory message, the UIAA Worldwide Executive described the forthcoming inaugural lecture as a remarkable milestone and one of the highest honours in the academic profession, noting that the entire UIAA Worldwide family is immensely proud of Prof. Emasealu’s achievement and enduring contributions to scholarship, mentorship and humanity.
In her comment, Prof Ruth Epochi-Olise, the Association’s Worldwide Financial Secretary, “Our own Professor Emmanuel C. Emasealu will soon mount the podium to deliver his inaugural lecture, a remarkable milestone and one of the highest honours in the academic profession. The UIAA Worldwide is immensely proud to celebrate this great achievement with him.”
Dr Terrumun Hembaor Gajir further called on all UItes across the country, especially members within Rivers State and neighbouring branches, to turn out in large numbers to honour and support the distinguished scholar during the historic event.
“Let the drums roll and the carpets be spread as UIAA Worldwide honours our distinguished scholar, mentor and leader,” he stated.
Dr. Gajir added that accomplishments and recognitions of such magnitude continue to reinforce the reputation of the University of Ibadan as a beacon of academic excellence and the pride of Africa.
The UIAA Worldwide President therefore congratulated Prof. Emmanuel C. Emasealu on the well-deserved honour, celebrating his invaluable contributions to academia, leadership and national development.
